Wishing you a warm welcome!
If you are planning a romantic wedding on this beautiful island of Cyprus then I am sure you will love this website! Its aim is for mainly non-resident brides to be (and grooms) that perhaps are a little nervous about organising their wedding from another country or that may have booked your wedding here already and haven't been to Cyprus before.
When Jim and I made the brave decision to move from the UK to Paphos in 2006 I was still working for my UK clients as a freelance Marketing Consultant under the brand name of 'Magenta Marketing'. Along side this I designed and developed a photography website for our new business in Cyprus. My main role in the business was marketing, administration and answering all our enquiries from brides to be.
I am a highly qualified CIM Marketer (boardroom level) with over 20 years experience and qualifications in HR too!
My background in the UK includes organising professional training courses, events/residential conferences and business networking. In addition I am a qualified Hair Stylist (Advanced City and Guilds) plus a Beauty Specialist (holder of International Health & Beauty Council Diploma).
Why did you decide to set up Cyprus VIP Brides2b?
I first developed my website for Paphosbrides2b two years after moving here during 2008 based on the questions I had been asked from our brides and grooms planning to marry in Paphos, when they had contacted us initially via the photography website.
I wanted to provide unbiased information from someone who lived here and knew the wedding sector really well; so brides had enough information to help them decide how best to plan their wedding in a way that suited them. The website became a great success and feedback from brides has been overwhelming over the years. Brides and Grooms kindly emailed me saying how much the website had helped them, giving them the confidence they 'can' organise their wedding in Cyprus. They loved the fact we were not trying to sell them anything and I wasn't actually a wedding planner, just providing information on what we had learnt ourselves being 'hands on'.
They often asked me to recommend wedding suppliers too which I have always been happy to do this and continue this service. On this new website we are featuring a select few featured wedding suppliers including photographers too! More recently the feedback has been that they are overwhelmed when asking for a wedding supplier on our Facebook group, sometimes having over 80 or more photographers alone offering their services.
Where did you marry?
Unfortunately it wasn't Cyprus, but I wish it had been! We married in Las Vegas in 2001 and booked everything via the internet. Although we had been to the USA many times before we hadn't been to Las Vegas. It was so difficult to know where to begin...
Did we want to use a wedding planner?
What should I wear?
Where in Vegas should we marry?
Should we book a package?
Where were the wedding venues in relation to the hotel we were staying?
Where can our guests stay?
We booked a package for everything as we were nervous about booking everything from another country. We regretted not taking more time to research what we really wanted for our day. We did however have a fabulous time though and enjoyed marrying abroad. My favourite part of our wedding day was our stretch white limo which whisked us from the Excalabur Hotel down the strip to the 'Little Chapel of the Flowers'. Then we returned to the hotel in the limo whilst drinking champagne - I felt famous for the day :) Except our photographer had disappeared by this time and we never got a photograph of it...
Jim and I hope you find this website helpful and do feel free to send us feedback anytime.
